Please check out the information about each artist/track below the player, BEFORE LISTENING. Recording and Mixing skills have obviously improved over the years, along with the quality of equipment used - as the tracks below reflect. Also, some of these tracks may be at various levels of completion, and may not be the final mix.

All tracks are copyright of the original owner - this mp3 player is simply to give the listener an example of the genre styles and sound quality of the recordings and mixes. ALL TRACKS ARE IN MP3 FORMAT, so the quality is slightly-degraded for internet streaming.

Think that recording in your garage or bedroom closet won't sound as good as in a professional studio? Think again!

Listen to these four tracks:

  • Chris Creed - A Few Days At The Beach
  • Chris Creed - Broke Out Of Luck
  • Chris Creed - West Coast Blues
  • Chris Creed - STOP

Two were recorded in a private studio, with floating floors and heavy sound-proofing, into an expensive Rode microphone through a professional mic panel, into a Pro Tools HD system...

The other two tracks, were recorded in a bedroom closet, with an AT4040 microphone, and NO professional sound proofing or isolation - into a mobile Pro Tools LE system.

Can you tell the difference? Which were done in the studio, and which were done in the bedroom closet?!?

Another couple tracks that were recorded exclusively out of a bedroom closet, are the few songs featured here, by Shawn Harris.

Give a listen!

Shawn Harris | Fall 2009

  • 1. Live In Me (Dance Remix)
  • 2. Not Like Crazy
  • 3. Planet Unicorn

All Vocals recorded in Shawn's downtown LA bedroom closet.

Originally recorded several tracks for a 5-song Demo, that turned into additional recordings, as well as full mix and mastering of the tracks for Shawn's press kit. More tunes coming soon. Shawn is blessed with amazing singing talent, as well as excellent piano playing skills...

***NOTE: The song "Not LIke Crazy" features some intricate panning, that is best heard on headphones. Some speaker setups may cause the vocal tracks to sound off - please try headphones for this one!

All songs recorded, mixed and mastered by Redline Recordings.

Atomic Fairy | Summer / Fall 2009

  • 1. Blind Leading The Blind
  • 2. Eye of Horus
  • 3. Les Indiens

Chris Creed | Spring / Summer / Fall 2009

  • 1. West Coast Blues

  • 5. Never Be Lonely
  • 6. Broke & Out of Luck Blues

Recorded all songs @ centinela bird, in West Los Angeles and then later re-tracked several songs in a bedroom closet - can you hear the difference in which ones? Bet not! 3 of the seven songs featured here, were re-recorded in a bedroom closet, due to the original studio space un-available at the time of re-recording.

All songs written and performed by Chris Creed. All songs here recorded, mixed and mastered by Redline Recordings.

Jeff Stepp | Winter / Spring 2009

  • 1. Closer Than The Sky

  • 3. I Saved You
  • 4. Just A Boy
  • 5. May I Be Excused
  • 6. One Of Us

Jeff brought Redline Recordings several of his own recorded songs, to mix-down and master. Most of his songs feature "a wall of sound" with many instruments, and has a grand musical-theatre-type style. Jeff recorded alot in Logic, so getting all of his tracks out of Logic and into Pro Tools, was a chore.

Many of Jeff's vocal recordings for these tracks were cursed with alot of headphone bleed, and required a ton of editing to the vocal tracks, to pull out most of the bleed. But he writes and performs such great songs, and features some superb vocal artists. Check out some of his tracks in the player above.

All songs written, recorded and produced by Jeff Stepp. All songs here mixed and mastered by Redline Recordings.

Will Segar | Summer / Fall 2008

"Easier" (Rough Mix)

Recorded @ centinela bird, in West Los Angeles during the spring and summer months of 2008. Tracked live full drum kit, electric and acoustic guitars, Fender Rhodes and Will's amazing keyboard and vocal talent. Alot of Beat Detective editing was required for the drums to match-up correctly.

Written and performed by Will Segar. Recorded and edited by Redline Recordings.

Parklane Twin | Summer 2007

  • "Christian Band"
  • "Everyday's A Saturday Night"
  • "Montgomery Ward"
  • "She Walked Me Down"
  • "Who's Holding You Now?"
  • "Highland Park"

Recorded @ centinela bird in West Los Angeles, near the end of Summer, 2007. Tracked live drums, guitars, vocals and Fender Rhodes, along with funky percussion instruments and claps. Chris Redwine recorded and engineered the above six tracks, which appear on the Parklane Twin, self-titled album.

Album-release (available at CD-Baby) with engineering credits for Jason Akana and Chris Redwine.

Jim Maurer | June 2007

Recorded a 7.5 ft, hand-crafted Kawaii Grand Piano, in Jim's North Hollywood home living room, where his Kawaii grand piano resides. Two AKG 414 condenser mics cover the hammers, while the AT4040 condenser was placed on the other side of the room, to capture the full ambient sound.

All songs performed by Jim Maurer. Recorded and produced by Redline Recordings.

Throughout the month of June 2007 - Jim and Redline recorded over seven albums worth of material! Produced right-on-the-spot after recording, using Logic Pro 7 and Pro Tools LE. All seven albums are currently available on CD Baby, as well as personally available through Jim Maurer, at his volunteering gigs at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank.

Tourcaster | January - May 2006

One of Redline Recordings first freelance jobs, hired by Webtigo in Santa Monica, California to edit and mix-down audio travel tours for a new start-up company, called "Tourcaster".

Small MP3 recorders were shipped to local tour guides across the world in popular tourist destinations, and the recorded audio was sent back to be mixed-in with music and company logo samples. Alot of these tour guide recordings were recorded in less-than 16-bit, 44.1 KHz, so the audio quality was often just terrible to work with! Alot of EQ and Compression work was needed, to try and make them sound decent. You will hear alot of differences in many of the travel tours - this is not the engineer's fault!!!

Processed MP3 IDv3 tag descriptions for audio tour files, and used Whalemail and XServe for file uploads. Edited, mixed and processed hours of audio tour dialogue, utilizing eq, compression and automation to match up the dialogue to imbedded music tracks, company logo stamps and to reach broadcast quality.

Personally selected and implemented complementing music tracks for the audio travel tours; Created full tour and sample audio tour tracks in several audio formats.

Visit Tourcaster.com for full-quality audio travel tours!

AK*1200 | August 2005

Rock The World - Drum N Bass DJ Mix

Recorded live @ Aguille Rock Climbing Center, in Orlando, FL. Ak 1200 helped sponsor Full Sail's Entertainment Business program benefit show for Multiple Sclerosis.

The power went out several times from the heavy rains in the earlier music performances, that evening. Redline Recordings came to the rescue with a mobile Pro Tools setup, to capture AK 1200's awesome drum and bass set... despite the rain. The Full 49-minute DJ set is available to listen to, above. Enjoy!

Chlorine | Spring / Summer 2005

Redline Recordings recorded a couple live shows for the energetic, rock-punk-reggae band. Chlorine recorded their demo album, and regularly practiced @ Bru V Studios - located in Oviedo, Florida. To hear some of these tracks, please Contact.

Blue Collar Addict | Spring / Summer 2005

Recorded @ Bru V Studios. All songs written and performed by Blue Collar Addict. Recorded and engineered by Redline Recordings.

After tracking several songs, Blue Collar Addict never returned to the studio, to begin mixing the tracks. All you can hear, is a straight recording... not even given a rough mix. Is a shame, some pretty heavy, hard-rockin stuff - would sound awesome if given a good mixin'! To hear these tracks, please Contact.

Travis | Summer 2004

"Drinkin' Song"

Recorded in a friends apartment bedroom, Redline Recordings caught Travis in the wee hours of the morning, playing some tunes on his acoustic guitar. Here is one of his originals, "Drinkin' Song". Check it out in the player above.

Redline & Mike Scudieri

Hurricane Season 2004

"Animal"

Recorded in Redline's apartment living room at the time, with Mike Sudieri, Brent Williams and that singer/songwriter chick...?!?

Recorded with an MBox into a 12" PowerBook G4 with Pro Tools, just before Hurricane Charley hit Central Florida in August, 2004.

Distinctly remember mixing in the reverb tracks, when the power went out... thinking it would turn back on shortly, mixed until the laptop battery died. The power didn't come back on for a week!!!

The first, real track ever recorded, mixed and produced by Redline Recordings. All instrumentation written and performed by Mike Scudieri, including background vocals, guitar, bass and drums. Lyrics and vocals by... what was her name?!?
